Gifts in Wills

You can create a lasting legacy for future generations of Western Health patients by leaving a gift in your Will (also known as a bequest). Western Health is the major healthcare provider to Melbourne’s diverse and culturally rich community in the west. While proudly diverse, people from across our suburbs face significant health challenges. Many experience higher than average rates of cancer, heart disease, stroke, diabetes and mental illness. Your gift can create a significant impact to help us build better health services to meet the needs of current and future generations in Melbourne’s west.

Writing or updating a Will is a personal decision that needs to be considered carefully. By having a valid and up to date Will, you’re ensuring your hard-earned savings go to the people and causes you care for most.

Including a gift in your Will, even directing 1% of your estate, to Western Health can create a meaningful impact for healthcare for the people of the west.

Wills and financial planning are sensitive private matters. We will always respect your privacy. See this link for our privacy policy.

How do I include a gift in my Will to Western Health?

There are two ways to include a gift to Western Health in your Will: either through a free online Will platform such as Gathered Here or through a Will on the advice of your solicitor.

Create your Will online

Did you know an uncomplicated Will can be written online? Western Health Foundation has partnered with Gathered Here to create a dedicated supporter page. Gathered Here is a trusted end-of-life services platform that can help you make a free online Will. One of the most impactful ways you can support Western Health is by pledging a gift in your Will. Using Gathered Here to write your Will won’t cost anything during your lifetime. It can take as little as ten minutes to complete your Will online. You can write your Will using Gathered Here regardless of whether you want to leave a gift to Western Health. There is no obligation to name Western Health as a beneficiary in your Will. Speak to your solicitor

If your Will is more complex, it is strongly recommended that you seek legal advice. If you already have a Will and would like to include a gift to Western Health, you can speak to your solicitor about adding a short legal amendment to your Will, known as a codicil.
